About the event

Join hike leader Andrea Stannard for Connecticut Trails day to experience Forest Bathing, a relatively quiet, moderately slow-paced hike of about 3 miles, engaging all of our senses. (No soap and water involved!) Stopping points along the way for re-centering and observation.

Meet at the Comstock Covered Bridge parking lot  on Comstock Bridge Road, Colchester,  at the Salmon River State Forest. Hike begins at 10:00 AM. 

  • FREE to all for CT Trails Day!
  • Open to the public. Registration recommended.
  • Quiet, slow hike. 
  • For this hike, please leave dogs at home.
  • Moderate elevation, non-groomed dirt trail with rocks and roots.
  • Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate boots or sneakers, water and sunscreen recommended. 
  • Tick protection is strongly suggested in all seasons.

The entrance parking lot for this hike is on the town line between East Hampton and Colchester.  From East Hampton, follow Rt. 16/Colchester Ave and take a left onto Comstock Bridge Road. 

From Colchester, follow Rt. 16/Middletown Ave and take a right onto Comstock Bridge Road

The parking lot will be immediately on your right, you will see the Covered Bridge there.
