“We should not forget that it will be just as important to our descendants to be prosperous in their time as it is to us to be prosperous in our time.”―Theodore Roosevelt.
Monthly CLT Events
Colchester Land Trust typically conducts its outings on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00pm, although that is not carved in stone. We are expanding our horizons for 2020, under the guidance of two of our newest Board members. Most are free, open to the public, and designed to introduce adults and children to the many special places that make Colchester a truly wonderful place to live. Some special events will carry a charge, depending on what is offered. Watch for announcements through social media! CLT paid events in the past have been very well received and we expect that those we offer in 2020 will be equally interesting!
To BE Determined ("TBD"for those of you who love acronyms)
We are compiling a list of compelling hikes and events for 2020, but have not finalized it as yet. However, the tentative February outing is a snowshoe hike of our Bulkeley Hill Preserve (assuming Frosty cooperates).
Watch this space for coming attractions.
Annual Salmon River 5.5 Mile Run
The Colchester Land Trust conducts an earth-friendly road race each May on the Saturday before Mother's Day. The 'hybrid' race features a variety of terrain, gorgeous scenery, and a post race feast that cannot be beat! For more information, please visit the race page at: or contact race directors, Cathy Shea at email@example.com.
Colchester Land Trust Scholarship
The CLT annual invests in the future of the environment and conservation by offering a $1,000 college scholarship to a Bacon Academy senior planning to further his or her education in environmental science, conservation, or a related field of study. For more information, or to apply for the CLT's scholarship, please contact John Barnowski (firstname.lastname@example.org), chair of the CLT Scholarship Committee or visit the Bacon Academy Guidance Dept.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 at 7:00pm - Town Hall
The Colchester Land Trust regularly meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Colchester Town Hall. Our meetings are open to the public and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Colchester Land Trust annually devotes one of its meetings to a social gathering of all friends, members, and interested citizens. Typically taking place in the month of June, the annual friends and members meeting is a wonderful venue for getting to know the officers, board members, general membership, partners and others involved with your local Land Trust. It is a great way to learn what we've been up to, to celebrate our accomplishments over the year and to learn more about current projects.
